After Hours Rotarians celebrated the beginning of a new Rotary year at their Annual Transition Dinner, June 24.

Special guests for the event included incoming District Governor Phil Murphy and his wife Sarah, as well as AG Carol Stark and PDG Bryan Cooke.

During the event, we heard outgoing President Carolyn Cooke review the last year's events and projects, then honored her with a "Cooke-themed" basket of kitchen gadgets - each creatively labeled with one of Carolyn's attributes by Alison Hamling. We closed the evening with the traditional exchange of pins and listened to incoming President Ron Marshall, as he gave us a preview of the year to come.

Greeley After Hours Rotary hosted District Governor Julie Phares to start of the New Year.

A resident of Estes Park DG Phares was happy to report the roads between Greeley and Estes are open and in good shape.  She shared her "Rotary Moment" with the club, talking about a service project in Guatemala and how her work there impacted the lives of many people, including her own.

DG Phares ended her visit with an informal board meeting, discussing challenges for the club and sharing ideas.

Thanks for your visit, Julie!

Club members come together on a night in December and assemble all gifts, then sort them to go to various agencies that help to distribute some of the bags. Club members personally deliver gifts to Greeley Eldergarden members and to some of the residents of Greeley Manor. Other gifts are distributed through Area Agency on Aging and Meals on Wheels.

Over 150 seniors and at-risk adults received a little holiday cheer this year, as a result of the Annual After Hours Christmas "Basket" Project.

Started even before the club chartered, each year Greeley After Hours Rotary collects a wide variety of useful items to produce a Christmas gift for lonely, needy or at-risk seniors in our community. The original basket has now been replaced by a reuseable shopping bag, but the thought is still the same. Recipients received gloves, scarves, blankets, candy, christmas ornaments and a variety of personal care items.

On Tuesday, July 17, Greeley Rotary-After Hours met at Greeley Eldergarden.  The purpose of the meeting was to complete the work on the memorial for former member and dear friend Paul Martin.  The gathered Rotarians made quick work of the project and then celebrated with pizza. Many commented that Paul was watching and having a good laugh as we tried to figure out how to put a bird feeding station together.
